Heavy-rap duo has fans moshing, headbanging and crowdsurfing in kinetic clip

NYC hip-hop duo City Morgue stand at the vanguard of a gnarly underground movement some call "trap metal." The group's ZillaKami and SosMula don't subscribe to the term, but they do openly embrace metallic influences, from Slipknot and Behemoth to Turnstile and Power Trip. While the group's past music videos have crawled through a sensational horror show of drugs, guns and twerking asses, City Morgue's latest clip focuses on the action of a frenzied small-club show full of headbanging, moshing and crowdsurfing. Set to "Caligula," the opening track off the duo's mixtape City Morgue Vol. 1: Hell or High Water, the kinetic visual befits the cut's lyrics, which open, "Black metal clash in the pit/Smoking black, their heart in abyss/Make that black metal cause an eclipse."

"The person who goes onstage is a different person," ZillaKami says in our just-published profile of City Morgue. "That's like a blackout, because normally I'm super calm. I wouldn't call it a character, it's just the purest form of myself." See the evidence above.
