Slipknot are playing games with us. Earlier today (June 7th), the Iowan metal institution suddenly broke the news that they had split with their spiky-headed sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones, who had been a member for 27 years. Then they kicked off their European tour at the Nova Rock festival in Austria with an unidentified person appearing onstage in his place behind the keyboard. And just an hour after making the announcement about Jones, they deleted the original posts from their socials without explanation.
Now, the 'Knot have shared a photo of a mystery masked individual, presumably the new band member who just joined them at Nova Rock, on their socials. No caption, no nothing. Shortly thereafter, on the Knotfest Instagram, the same photo was posted with a simple but suggestive caption: "Following the announcement that the band has parted ways with Craig Jones, Slipknot has shared an image of a new masked person."
