Super Natural Psycho: See Psychedelic Rock Act's Witchy, Hypnotic New Video

Arthur Rizk–produced "W.D.Y.L" receives bucolic, cultish visual

They say that punk is an attitude, and never has that been more evident than in today's current landscape where bands born of that scene are fearlessly exploring a wide range of different musical expressions. Whether that's Brit-pop / classic rock (Vanity), shoegaze (Nothing, Title Fight) or even freestyle (Blu Anxxiety), punk's do-it-yourself, no-fucks-given aesthetic provides fertile ground for experimentation.

Super Natural Psycho outwardly appears to be a band that knows its way around records by Roky Erickson and the Black Angels, yet the New York–based crew blossomed from the punk scene, sprouting from bands as varied as Xibalba, CREEM, Attitude and more. Despite their decidedly un-punk sound, they still run in those circles; SNP previously released an effort with Pop Wig (the label associated with Turnstile and Trapped Under Ice), and continue to play dates with hardcore boundary-pushers like Candy.

Their latest effort is Rendezvous With the Sun (order yours), the much-lauded 2018 LP that mines psychedelia, the Haight of the 60s and all manner of drug-tinged rock of the era.

Today, June 20th, SNP reveals the dreamy "W.D.Y.L." video with Revolver. Directed by George Underwood, the video is a pensive, surreal and dreamlike excursion full of witchy, cult-like scenes.

Director George Underwood sets up the clip, which is a follow-up to their last "Alice Comes Around" visual, as follows: "After the events of 'Alice Comes Around," we enter the mind of vocalist Vrndavana Lila, blurring lines of perception, conjuring dreams into reality and driving us to the point where fantasy, hallucination and nightmare meet."
