Control Denied and Pharaoh vocalist Tim Aymar has died. He was 59. The sad news was confirmed by his Pharaoh bandmates on social media. No cause of death has been revealed.
Most notably, Aymar sang on 1999's The Fragile Art of Existence, the one and only album recorded by Chuck Schuldiner's progressive metal side project before the Death mastermind died of cancer in 2001. The singer fronted the Pennsylvanian power-metal group Pharaoh from the late Nineties to the present day.
"Tim has meant so much to so many people, whose hearts are suddenly flooded with sadness but also memories of his life and music," the surviving members of Pharaoh said in their statement. "We look forward to sharing some of our own memories when the right time has come. Until then, we are joined in sorrow and gratitude with all of Tim's family, friends, fans, and fellow musicians."
The Death estate also weighed in. "It is with deep sadness that from several sources it would appear that Tim Aymar has passed away," reads a statement on the band's Facebook page. "Our deepest and most sincere condolences to his friends and family."
