New York hardcore veteran Todd Youth (born Todd Schofield) has died. He was 47 years old. Former Bad Brains vocalist Israel Joseph I, who played with Youth in the band Fireburn, confirmed the news on Facebook, writing, "There are no words to express how sad I am at the passing of my brother Todd Youth. The music he made will forever be remembered, and I'm so thankful that I was able to work with him ..." You can read the full statement below. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
In addition to Fireburn, Youth played guitar in an array of highly respected bands, both NYHC groups and outfits outside that scene, including Danzig, Samhain, Warzone, Murphy's Law, D Generation and Cheap Trick. He also performed live with Motörhead, Agnostic Front and others. Since the news of passing broke, many of fans, friends and peers have paid their respects on social media, including Hatebreed, Life of Agony singer Mina Caputo and Skarhead's Danny Diablo.
