Tool have astounded fans over the years not just with their psychedelic prog metal but also their mind-expanding animated music videos — but it's been 15 long years since the group offered up a new one. That drought is about to end: Tool are set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut EP, 1992's Opiate, with the official release of the extended version of its title track (which has become a live staple over the years) along with an accompanying short film. "Opiate2" will be available via DSPs on March 1st, with the Blu-ray only visual companion available on March 18th.

Visual artist Dominic Hailstone (Alien: Covenant, The Eel) worked with guitarist Adam Jones, himself a former VFX artist, on the 10-minute-plus video. Hailstone and Jones also collaborated on the filmed pieces featured on the band's current Fear Inoculum tour.

The physical release features a Blu-ray housed in a 46-page art book with behind-the-scenes and making-of photos as well as interviews and insights from special guests. "Opiate2" pre-orders are available now.
