UPDATE 2: Tool have shared a promo for their "Music Clinics" tour, featuring an instrumental clip of the new song, which some fans have identified as "Descending," a recent composition that the band has previously played live. Watch the video above.
UPDATE: Tool have added two more dates to their "Music Clinics" tour, in Pittsburgh and Philadephia. See the full itinerary below. Tickets, which cost $500, are available via the band's website, and are sold out everywhere except for the two new locations.
ORIGINAL STORY, 4/9/2018: Between the polyrhythmic arrangements, cryptic lyrics, abstract visuals and scarce press appearances, Tool's universe can seem pretty impenetrable at times. That's all set to change next month, when drummer Danny Carey, bassist Justin Chancellor and guitarist Adam Jones hit the road for a string of intimate performances and fan Q&As that they're describing as "Music Clinics." (Frontman Maynard James Keenan will not be present, presumably due to A Perfect Circle's upcoming tour.)
Each stop on the trek, which begins May 11th in St. Paul, Minnesota, will find the three musicians detailing the stories behind several Tool tracks, engaging in open conversations with fans, taking audience questions and, of course, performing. Additionally, they'll also be bringing along unique items from Tool's history as part of a traveling exhibit. In addition to commemorative merch, ticket-holders will get the chance to mingle with the band members post-session.
Find the full itinerary for Tool's traveling "Music Clinics" below. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 13th, at 10 a.m. Pacific; members of the band's Tool Army can snag them two days earlier (April 11th) at 10 a.m. Pacific via the Tool webstore.
