TOOL's Adam Jones unveils new "Art Collection" signature guitar

Featuring artist Julie Heffernan's "Study for Self-Portrait With Rose Skirt and a Mouse"

Late last year, visionary TOOL guitarist Adam Jones announced the ongoing Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom Art Collection, which channels his joint love of music and fine art through seven Silverburst Les Paul Custom guitars emblazoned with the artwork of five distinguished visual artists handpicked by Jones. The collection launched with Mark Ryden's "The Veil of Bees," featuring a piece by the acclaimed "Pop Surrealism" master, followed by Frank Frazetta's "Berserker," featuring artwork by the revered "godfather of fantasy art."

Today (April 25th), Jones unveiled the third model in the collection, a collaboration with acclaimed American painter Julie Heffernan that features her artwork titled "Study for Self-Portrait With Rose Skirt and a Mouse." This guitar displays Heffernan's piece on the back of the guitar, and the artwork on the rear of the headstock is designed by world-renowned artist Korin Faught. The nude self-portrait draws on art historical representations of the figure to reflect on pressing contemporary concerns, such as women's rights, precarity of the environment, and other under-represented and socially relevant topics.
