As frontman Jeremy Bolm explains, the last two Touché Amoré LPs — 2013's Is Survived By and 2016's Stage Four — were semi-concept albums addressing, respectively, his mother's sickness and eventual death. Having artistically processed that harrowing experience, the L.A. post-hardcore masters shifted gears for their upcoming LP, Lament, due out October 9th via Epitaph Records. "I allowed myself the freedom on this album to kind of explore different things ... sing about something positive," Bolm says.
That doesn't make Lament any less raw, emotive or impactful than those prior releases, however. In fact, the new direction unlocked previously untouched angles of creativity for all five band members: Bolm, guitarists Clayton Stevens and Nick Steinhardt, bassist Tyler Kirby and drummer Elliot Babin. They reveal as much in part one of "From Peaks of Blue (Making of Lament)," a new behind-the-scenes doc that was shot and edited by Revolver contributor Sean Stout, and which we're proud to premiere above.
