Dark post-punk-inflected Boston hardcore band American Nightmare dropped their first album in 15 years today (you can get it here), a nine-track self-titled ripper featuring standout cut "Flowers Under Siege," for which the band produced the starkly beautiful live video you can view above. Fronted by Cold Cave main man Wes Eisold, the enigmatic act previously released just two full-length albums over the last two decades since its formation, tumultuous years that also saw the band temporarily loses its name, change members and break up. On their new album, American Nightmare not only nod to longstanding influences including Negative Approach, SSD and the Cro-Mags but also to proto-goth groups such as Joy Division and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
