Watch Avenged Sevenfold Members Read Mean Tweets in Funny New Video

"Avenged Sevenfold is the musical equivalent of dumpster juice"

UPDATE: Avenged Sevenfold have unveiled a second installment of "Mean Tweets," featuring the same members seen in episode one. Check out the latest round of the band members reading mean tweets above.

ORIGINAL STORY, 4/10/18: Like most successful bands, Avenged Sevenfold have their fair share of haters on social media. Rather than engage in bitter back-and-forths with the naysayers, three members of the band — guitarist Synyster Gates, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman — are taking the high road with their very own version of "Mean Tweets," the popular Jimmy Kimmel Live! sketch where celebrities read aloud some of the harshest tweets addressed to them, and clap back with responses of their own. They're nothing if not good sports — for the most part.

Sparing themselves no comfort, the band chug down the haterade straightaway in the four-minute-long clip, taking on a wide array of disses. "Dear wedding reception going on outside my hotel: listen to Avenged Sevenfold somewhere else, like in hell, where that horrible shit belongs," reads one tweet. ("I think you should walk up to one in four people in your community and slap them in the face if you feel that way," responds Gates). "I quite like Avenged Sevenfold, but Synyster Gates' performance as Goku in [2009's anime-inspired action filmDragonball Evolution was just terrible," writes another. ("Fuck you," declares Wackerman.)

Avenged Sevenfold are set to embark on their End of the World tour later this year, with support from Prophets of Rage, Three Days Grace and Ho99o9. "We see this tour as an opportunity to create an event with special bands and different generations of rock fans," Shadows says of the trek, which kicks off July 22nd. "From the moment you arrive at the venue until the last note is played, we're hoping to give you the time of your life."
