Watch Baroness' Trippy Video for New Song "Borderlines"

John Baizley and Gina Gleason emote amid human skulls and neon trails

Fresh off the reveal of their forthcoming album's stunning cover painting and the live debut of its lead single, Baroness have unleashed the studio version of new song "Borderlines," along with its mind-bending music video. The cut is signature Baroness, full of soaring harmonized vocals, off-kilter riffage and spacey atmospherics. The trippy clip is instilled with a similarly dark psychedelic vibe, as human skulls and neon scribbles move across the screen while frontman John Baizley and new guitarist Gina Gleason emote head-on at the viewer.

"Borderlines" marks the Savannah group's first new material since Gleason took over for Pete Adams following his departure in 2017, and the song is set to appear on Gold & Grey, the follow-up to 2015's Grammy-nominated Purple. "Our goal is, was, and will always be to write increasingly superior, more honest and compelling songs, and to develop a more unique and challenging sound," Baizley says of the new LP. "I'm sure we have just finished our best, most adventurous album to date. We dug incredibly deep, challenged ourselves and recorded a record I'm positive we could never again replicate. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to know Sebastian, Nick and Gina as both my bandmates and my friends. They have pushed me to become a better songwriter, musician and vocalist. We're all extremely excited for this release, which includes quite a few 'firsts' for the band, and we're thrilled to be back on tour to play these psychotic songs for our fans. Expect some surprises." Gold & Grey is due June 14 via Baroness' own Abraxan Hymns — you can pre-order it here and see the cover art and full track list below.
