Watch Body Count's Powerful "Black Hoodie" Performance at Grammys

Ice-T and Co. deliver fiery rendition of 'Bloodlust' standout on "Music's Biggest Night"

The Ice-T-fronted metal band Body Count was among the performers during the Grammys pre-telecast tonight, January 28th. The group tore through a raucous rendition of their Bloodlust single "Black Hoodie," which was among the nominees for this year's "Best Heavy Metal Performance" award (the honor ultimately went to Mastodon). "We're doing this for metal, y'all!" Ice told the crowd, going on to dedicate the performance to Trayvon Martin and other victims of police brutality.

Reflecting on Body Count's nomination during a pre-show red carpet interview, Ice-T admitted he was a bit surprised by the critical nod. "At first I'm like, 'No, that's a joke: Body Count? Are you serious?" he said, later adding: "To be picked and nominated is still a great achievement for my band. We've been around for over 20 years, so we're happy to be here."
