Heavy-music experimentalists unleash third single off new LP 'Underneathe'

Underneath, the highly anticipated new album from Pittsburgh metallic hardcore experimentalists Code Orange, is due out at the end of this week, fittingly, on Friday the 13th. In January, they unleashed the lead single and title cut off their new LP along with its synapse-frying music video. Last month, they dropped "Swallowing the Rabbit Whole," a next-level aggro banger with a headline-making visual that unveiled vocalist, drummer and bandleader Jami Morgan's new role as the group's frontman, claiming the mic center stage. Today, March 9th, they've unveiled Underneath's third single, the cinematic dirge "Sulfur Surrounding," which comes paired with a creepy, surreal video directed and animated by the band's electronics guru Shade Balderose. Watch and listen above.

"'Sulfur Surrounding' is about your deepest relationships becoming manipulative, corrosive and eventually hopeless," Morgan commented. "Haunted by chemical compulsion. Fading into the depressive cycle. Another step on our journey under. The song showcases another stylistic dip on the rollercoaster that is Underneath. Soon all will become clear."

The day after Underneath drops, Code Orange are set to celebrate with a big hometown record release show also featuring Every Time I Die, Zao, Jesus Piece, Machine Girl and Facewreck. Then, later this month, they'll kick off their UNDERNEATHTHESKIN_TOUR, joined by the cutting-edge lineup of Show Me The Body, Jesus Piece, Year of the Knife and Machine Girl. See the band's upcoming dates below.
