Watch Coheed and Cambria's New Mini-Doc on Recording 'The Unheavenly Creatures'

Band shares part 1 of intimate in-the-studio series detailing writing, tracking its ninth album

Last week, Coheed and Cambria released their new record Vaxis — Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, the first album in what the band promises to be a pentalogy of a new saga. It's maybe the band's most challenging record to date, coming in at a whopping 78 minutes and not a second of it feels unnecessary.

Today, the band has released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Unheavenly Creatures, the first part in a series. The biggest aspect of this record they point out is the fact it's all self-produced at Applehead Studios in Woodstock, NY. The video shows all of the members generally having an awesome time, executing the ideas they've fleshed out across each instrument. "It's fun to see the energy of the other guys when something is good and everybody really likes it," says singer Claudio Sanchez. "That's what makes it fun for me."
