Today, April 30th, Ghost called a live press event in New York City, during which Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator teased some new Ghost music and revealed a new video that sheds light on what happens to the previous Papa Emeritus characters.
The 'Chapter Three: Back on the Road' clip picks up where we last saw Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator: introducing us to Cardinal Copia, before sending the new frontman off to get fitted for his new suits. Papa and Sister then visit the three former Papa characters, who are grimly playing cards.
"Boys, you are being reinstated," announced Sister. "You're going back on the road. You're going back in full regalia. You're going to be back in the spotlight ... forever!"
The former frontmen are then apparently killed, and sent to the morgue where they are, in fact, outfitted in full regalia. Then, they're loaded onto the tour van with the rest of the gear. The video's concluding message promises that fans who've secured VIP tickets for the upcoming tour will get the chance to "meet the papas" — their corpses, that is.
"Oh ... [it does] not feel good to kill my children," offers Papa Nihil. "But they played a role in helping to further the ministry and its cause."

The band also announced its first-ever headline arena dates in support of their upcoming fourth album Prequelle, which drops June 1st. Ghost will perform at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA on November 16, 2018, and Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on December 15, 2018. Tickets for both shows go on sale on this Friday, May 4th at 10:00am local time and will be available HERE.
These shows will follow Ghost's recently announced Rats on the Road North American tour, which kicks off on May 5, 2018 in Riverside, California. Full tour dates below:
