Watch Grotesque New Video for Anatomy's Industrial Dance Fave "The Sixth Seal"

NYC darkwave artist debuts NSFW visual accompaniment to debut 7"

Jenna Rose is Anatomy, an NYC project that dances between darkwave synth and industrial much like Trent Reznor did before Jimmy Iovine and the big budgets. The bulk of Anatomy's buzz thus far has come from the project's live gigs — Jenna Rose's onstage presentation is fantastic. She attacks the vocals with a punk fury, alternating between sung melodies and screams while a sequencer bangs out danceable rhythms. It's beautiful yet primitive, catchy and hateful, but most of all memorable.

Already a favorite among the NYC noise community via live performance, "The Sixth Seal" alternates between sung and screamed vocals, which clearly represent the dichotomy that is Anatomy — melody crosses with vein-bulging fury to make for a wholly interesting approach to both. The video for the cut, a mesmerizing yet grotesque series of images depicting war, surgery and everything that is disgusting in between, was directed by the artist herself. Check it out above.

You can order the new Anatomy self-titled 7" via Bandcamp and scroll down for Jenna Rose's upcoming live dates. Rose also serves as the bassist of post-punk favorites PAWNS, and she recently remixed a track from that band which is also available below.
