Watch Guns N' Roses Perform First-Ever Cover of Velvet Revolver's "Slither"

Axl Rose and Co. take on 2004 cut for European tour kickoff in Berlin

Guns N' Roses kicked off the European leg of their summer tour last night (June 3rd) at the Olympiastadion Berlin, where they covered Velvet Revolver's "Slither" for the very first time. That band, of course, featured the talents of Guns N' Roses members both current (Slash, Duff McKagan) and former (Matt Sorum), as well as Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner and late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland. The song appears on Velvet Revolver's 2004 debut, Contraband.

GN'R's "Slither" take proved a nice — if surprising — addition to the set when considered alongside Rose and Weiland's 2006 feud, which found the latter calling the former a "fat, botox-faced, wig-wearing fuck," among other salvos, as Billboard points out.

Guns N' Roses — who are set to drop a massive reissue of 1987's classic album Appetite For Destruction later this month — will remain on the road in Europe through late July, with an Asian leg to follow in November. Find a full list of dates here.
