Plus, former White Stripes bandleader discusses new solo album, upcoming tour

Jack White was a guest on Lars Ulrich's Beats 1 show "It's Electric!" this weekend, breaking down his new solo album Boarding House Reach, upcoming tour plans and more with the Metallica drummer. Two video clips of the just-aired episode find the pair discussing White's choice to ban cell phones at all of his upcoming concerts so fans stay engaged ("If I finish a song and go, 'Ta-da!', and it's crickets, I'm like, 'Well, I don't know what to do now,'" the rocker, who's famous for his aversion to set lists, explained) — as well as his burgeoning interest in collaborating with hip-hop session musicians in the studio and at his concerts. Check out the former clip above, and the latter below.

Part two of Ulrich's "It's Electric!" interview with White airs this Sunday, March 31st. Since its launch in early May, the show's featured interviews with Iggy Pop, Rancid guitarist Lars Frederiksen, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows, Royal Blood, Dave Grohl and Dillinger Escape Plan. "It's Electric!" airs every Sunday at 6 p.m. EST on Apple Music.
