If Manchester's Leeched aren't one of the most pulverizing metallic hardcore outfits out there, we don't know who is. "Their sound is that of a nightmare factory tearing itself apart from the inside," Revolver wrote of their fantastic, grinding To Dull the Blades of Your Abuse when it appeared on our Best Albums of 2020 Albums So Far list. Arriving pre-pandemic, the record was just what we needed for the apocalyptic year that lay ahead. Now, almost exactly 12 months later, Leeched has teamed up with Revolver to premiere a new live set featuring crushing renditions of LP standouts. Watch above.
Of the live session — which was recorded and mixed at No Studio and filmed by Loki Films — the band tells us in a joint statement, "[We] performed a select six songs from the album. Only real music is going to last. All that other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrow."
When asked about their plans for the coming year, they replied succinctly: "In 2021, Leeched will release its best album to date."
