Watch Metallica's Stunning Pro-Shot "Enter Sandman" Performance in Kentucky

1991 megahit got special extended, in-the-round treatment at Louisville arena show

Still neck-deep in their massive WorldWired Tour, thrash-metal stalwarts Metallica have released stunning pro-shot footage of their recent Louisville, Kentucky performance of 1991 monolithic hit "Enter Sandman."

Showcasing their current in-the-round setup and strategically darkened lighting setup for the classic, the music builds slowly to an epic smoke explosion to coincide with that first big riff in the track. From there it's an all-out audience party, with the crowd singing so loud they drown out singer James Hetfield's iconic growl at points. He gleefully lets them though, and takes a step back to let the concert goers howl the lyrics while the rest of the band shreds with their tightly honed skill.

A fake-out breakdown at the ends sees drummer Lars Ulrich get out from behind the kit to walk out toward the audience and get them going yet again, just before the group break out into an extended version of the song to the delight of the attendees of the show at the city's KFC Yum! Center. The show broke attendance records set by country artist George Strait in 2014, with the metal legends bringing in a staggering audience of 23,084 fans according to local Kentucky news outlet WKYT.
