Watch Myrkur and Chelsea Wolfe's Haunting Duet in a Vegas Hotel Room

Musicians present stripped-down rendition of "Funeral"

Amalie Bruun, a.k.a. Myrkur, is set to release her sophomore album Mareridt this Friday, September 12th, via Relapse. In anticipation of its arrival, the Danish multi-instrumentalist has shared a performance video for "Funeral," a collaboration with California singer-guitarist Chelsea Wolfe which appears on the upcoming LP. The layered, black-and-white visual was filmed in a Las Vegas hotel room, with the city lights shimmering behind them. Its brightly lit backdrop and minimal instrumentation — Bruun plays the nyckelharpa, a traditional scandanavian folk instrument, while Wolfe strums the guitar — builds at an interesting contrast between the song's plodding, contemplative brain, and its barren, beautiful heart. Watch now.
