Seminal doomsayers the Obsessed have announced a deluxe reissue of 1990's self-titled debut album. The expanded edition, due out November 17th via Relapse on 2xCD, vinyl and digital formats, combines the remastered album with 1984's hard-to-find Concrete Cancer demo, as well as expanded artwork, rare photos and new liner notes penned by bandleader Scott "Wino" Weinrich. In anticipation of the forthcoming package, Wino and drummer Brian Costantino stopped by Gibson Guitars' NYC studios to record a stripped-down rendition of "The Way She Fly," taken from The Obsessed. "A gorgeous Gibson John Lennon mahogany acoustic guitar, Bridog grooving the cajón and the warm natural room sound — it was perfect," says Wino.
