Love, Bondage, Torture: Watch Patriarchy's New NSFW Video "Lock Jaw"

L.A. provocateur Actually Huizenga delivers "a little transcendental brutality"

Patriarchy has been called goth, industrial and, our favorite, "snuff metal." However you choose to describe the project, the fact remains: Patriarchy is Actually Huizenga. The musician, performance artist and provocateur is joined live by two male ex-models, whom Huizenga claims she met through two different junk removal and disposal services: "As soon as they tried my stiletto heels on, they were in," she says. "A Cinderella story with an extra 10 inches and a lot more chain."

Speaking of chains, those loom large — along with black hoods, white vinyl boots and lots of blood — in the ultra-violent music video for Patriarchy's new single "Lock Jaw." Revolver is proud to premiere the song and its visual, the latter a hard-hitting industrial banger, the former a disturbing, tortured-filled short that will likely have some viewers flashing back to the first time they glimpsed Nine Inch Nails' Broken film through the hands over their eyes. Watch and listen above.

"This song is about falling in love with someone you never noticed really ever ... until they made a clever move (Velociraptor-style, if you know what I mean!)," Huizenga tells us. "Once someone like this — with reptile-blue eyes — gets their jaws around you, resistance is no longer a viable option; the chemicals hit harder when you aren't ready for it. You want them and enjoy them until they unlock their jaw ... and that is that: You must suffer withdrawals and journey back to the convent; sink back into the crying, the masturbating, the art: the Self."

She adds, "The video deals with me physically acting out those feelings with fellow artist-friends who were ready to witness a little transcendental brutality. I came up with the idea through romantic anger — I used the burnt up remains of my family home and all of my favorite Home Depot accessories."
