Watch A Perfect Circle Glitch Out in Stark, Eerie New "The Doomed" Video

Supergroup's apocalyptic new single gets intense visual

A Perfect Circle have unveiled a dramatic new music video for their latest single, "The Doomed." Directed by Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn, the stark, slow-building clip gets up close and personal with each member of the band — singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarists Billy Howerdel and James Iha, bassist Matt McJunkins and drummer Jeff Friedl. Don't be fooled by the video's straightforward appearance — things get pretty freaky towards the end.

"Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe," Keenan commented, referencing A Perfect Circle's last album, when "The Doomed" was initially unveiled in October. "A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder."

The new clip arrives as A Perfect Circle approach the end of their fall North American tour ahead of a new, as-yet-untitled LP, due next year. A remaining list of dates can be found here.

Below, watch Maynard James Keenan demonstrate some of the fighting techniques that earned him his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and elaborate on how his lifelong affinity for combat sports is connected with his larger vision of sustainable living, self-sufficiency and creativity.
