Watch Post-Metal Outfit Zaius' Hypnotizing "Seirenes" Video

Chicago band explores land, sea and stars in breathtaking visual off forthcoming 'Of Adoration'

Zaius are a four-piece from Chicago who specialize in anguished, instrumental post-metal in the style of groups like the Ocean and Mouth of the Architect – extended, crushing anthems that speak volumes without uttering a single syllable. Ahead of their sprawling debut full-length Of Adoration, due out October 6th via Prosthetic, the group have unveiled a new song and music video, "Seirenes."

"'Seirenes' really encapsulates the sound we were trying to achieve for this record," says guitarist Ian McConnell. "We were firing on all cylinders at this point in the writing process so it was all very visceral."

Dave Ayling directed the mesmerizing visual, which doubles as a tribute to Mother Nature, or perhaps the universe writ large: over the epic track's six-and-a-half-minute timespan, we're treated to stunning views of ocean waves, desert nightscapes, distant planets, crowded galaxies, and much, much more.
