Watch Prophets of Rage Tackle NFL Controversy in New "Strength in Numbers" Video

Supergroup's latest visual confronts racism, gun violence

Prophets of Rage have shared a provocative visual for "Strength in Numbers," off their recent self-titled debut. The supergroup's latest music video translates their call-to-arms single into a multimedia collage highlighting America's deep-seated history of racism and violence. Through combination of found footage, photos and time-lapse photography, Tom Morello, B-Real, Chuck D and Co. trace a troubling timeline all the way up to the present. Watch now.

As evidenced by its opening scenes, the "Strength in Numbers" clip doubles as Prophets' response to the recent controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who famously took a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality, inspiring dozens of players to do the same – and starting a movement in the process. "ALMOST anything can be built or toppled with a collective force," reads the video's accompanying Facebook description, penned by Chuck D. "A movement is never about an individual. On the opposition of Colin Kaepernick in today's sports world, we ask, 'Is it the KNEE or is it The NEGRO?'"
