Watch Sign Language Interpreter Rage While Translating Lamb of God's Set

Headbanging, air guitar-playing hero stole the show at band's Austin stop-off

Sign language interpreters are the unsung heroes of the concert world. As the sole person(s) responsible translating the onstage action for hearing-impaired fans in real-time, they're basically an extension of the artists themselves, serving as simultaneous attendants and entertainers — and in some cases, upstaging the performers outright.

That's exactly what happened during a recent Lamb of God show in Austin, Texas, which saw a sign language interpreter delivering an faithful, impassioned — and metal-as-fuck — translation of the Virginians' performance. Newly-shared Facebook footage shows the woman (whose name has yet to be revealed) banging her head, shredding on the air guitar, and pantomiming Randy Blythe's frenzied screams as if they were her own. Naturally, the video, which was shot by Freddie Ibarra, has since gone viral — and how could it not? This lady's a goddamn hero.

Below, see Lamb of God's Randy Blythe talk about his deep love for Slayer and his personal history with the band:
