Watch Soundgarden Perform Powerful, Somber "Black Hole Sun" Live in 2013

Chris Cornell and Co.'s heartfelt version of 1994 hit appears in forthcoming 'Live From the Artist's Den' concert film

It's been just over two years since Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell died at age 52, and since then fans and musical colleagues have paid tribute several times to the lasting impact his musical genius had on their own careers and lives. A new performance film — Soundgarden: Live From the Artist's Den — recorded at their February 17, 2013 show at Los Angeles venue The Wiltern further exhibits Cornell's singular sound and ability, and an emotionally wrought version of the band's biggest hit "Black Hole Sun" can now be seen online ahead of the film's July 26th release.

In the clip, Cornell croons the gorgeously melancholic song from underneath a veil of curly hair, seemingly reserved for the first half of the performance before unleashing a powerful and heartbreaking showing by track's climax. Shot beautifully from multiple angles that highlight the intricate lighting and beauty of the historic theater, Soundgarden's legacy is respectfully preserved in the film's integrity.

Soundgarden: Live From the Artist's Den will be available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital formats next Friday, July 26th. Pre-order a copy here
