Extreme-metal crew announce new live album 'Live & Mental'

On December 4th, 2015, deathcore favorites Suicide Silence headlined a special benefit show in support of Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHLA) at Santa Ana's The Observatory. Today (June 28th), the group has announced that the audio from the concert will be released as Live & Mental, due July 12th via Nuclear Blast, and they accompanied the news with video of their crushing performance of Korn's classic song "Blind." (Watch that above.) Hosted by SiriusXM's Jose Mangin and co-presented as an "Affliction Metal Night," the sold-out show raised nearly $17,000 towards the creation of a homeless healthcare center where "where people living on the streets with mental illness can come and get their needs met."

"Although this benefit show was recorded way back in 2015, with mental health issues as relevant as ever in society today, we felt the desire to further propel the conversation throughout the metal scene, while also allowing fans to share in this special night of unreleased material with us," Suicide Silence said of the live album in a joint statement.
