Watch Tech-Death Outfit Entheos' Glitchy, Futuristic New "Pulse of a New Era" Video

Progressive-metal trailblazers' latest visual delivers psychedelic chaos
entheos video screen grab 2 - 2018

Progressive death metallers Entheos have shared an entrancing visual for "Pulse of a New Era," off last year's excellent album Dark Future. Directed by TK, It finds the band — ex-Animals as Leaders drummer Navene Koperweis, ex-the Faceless bassist Evan Brewer, ex-Scale the Summit guitarist Travis LeVrier and larynx-shredding vocalist Chaney Crabb — ripping through the song in a stark industrial space.

Sounds like a garden-variety performance clip, right? Think again. Between the dazzling multicolored lights, the ever-present fog and the distorted effects, "Pulse of a New Era" evokes a psychedelic, dystopian vibe that proves more nightmarish than it initially lets on — much like the original track.

"Our aim for the 'Pulse of a New Era' video was to create a glitchy, futuristic atmosphere with bright colors that contrast a stark background," the band say of the clip. "This scenery mirrors the psychedelic nature of the song, and creates an ambiguously entrancing visual to support one of the more driving songs on Dark Future."

Entheos will be hitting the road early next month for a North American headlining tour, supported by Rings of Saturn, Nekrogoblikon and Allegaeon. Find a full itinerary below.
