At 101WKQZ's Piqniq at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Illinois on June 15th, Tom Morello gave some select fans a special treat by bringing them onstage during the closing portion of his electrified set. However, one fan didn't respect Morello's personal space when he tried to put his phone in the guitarist's face and quickly learned the hard way that shit doesn't fly with the outspoken shredder.

"Put a phone in my face onstage and I'll throw it. #LiveInTheMoment," he captioned in a Twitter video that shows the incident (see below). Following Rob Halford's recent lead, the musician showed zero remorse and seemed almost delighted as he smoothly grabbed and tossed the phone into the crowd while the surprised fan looks confused and hurriedly begins pointing to audience members in the area where it landed to find it.

The incident should not have come as a surprise to the fan, as the radio station hosting the event reports Morello was explicit in promising "I'll smack it" to those who dared to get too close to film while he was playing.

No fun was sacrificed during the event though, and the performance played out perfectly with help from Rise Against frontman and Chicago native Tim McIlrath and Illinois punk rocker Ike Reilly. Despite warnings to enjoy the moment, several fans captured the jam in social media posts. See below for more footage from the event, including Morello beginning the show from inside the crowd.
