"Onstage, it's like sometimes you wanna break your fucking head open and make yourself bleed," Vein frontman Anthony DiDio once told us. "Because at the end of the day, you don't know what the fuck anyone's actually feeling, even your best friend or whoever. You wanna do all this crazy shit that you want people to know how you're feeling. And when you're onstage, in the heat of the moment, that feeling is like no other. But then after that, you can think and do shit and it's a fucked-up way of feeling in touch with yourself. It's very real."
The fact they are always real onstage — and often completely unhinged as a result — is just one of the reasons why we love DiDio's band. The rising metallic hardcore stars recently hit Philadelphia's Underground Arts amid their nonstop touring in support of last year's excellent errorzone LP, and they did all they could to level the place to the ground. Hardcore chronicler par excellence Hate5six was there to catch the action — see the resulting video of the band's incendiary full set above.
