Back in June, Danish "Elvis metal" hit-makers Volbeat released two new songs just in time for the start of summer: "Wait a Minute My Girl" and "Dagen Før." The band's first new material since their 2019 full-length, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, the singles made a perfect pairing for windows-down drives and backyard hangouts — especially the former, a swingin' summer jam that finds the midway point between catchy SoCal pop-punk and Volbeat's affinity for retro rock & roll.
Today (July 12th), frontman Michael Poulsen and Co. offered up a fittingly lighthearted music video for the tune, animated in the style of those ridiculous JibJab eCards you probably know all too well — or, if you wanna go a little more high brow, like Terry Gilliam's animation for Monty Python's Flying Circus.
