Watch YOB's Trippy New "Original Face" Live Performance Video

Portland doom band unleashed intense version of 'Our Raw Heart' standout in NYC

YOB gave fans something to cry to when they dropped Our Raw Heart back in June, a painfully gorgeous album written in the aftermath of singer/guitarist Mike Scheidt's scary battle with acute diverticulitis in late 2016 and early 2017. The near-death experience brought about new emotional depths to which the Portland doom band could dig inspiration from, and, as seen in the new live video for "Original Face," their performance has done anything but suffer in the wake of their healing and perseverance.

YOB's impassioned performance, captured through multiple camera angles at Manhattan's Le Poisson Rouge, was superimposed with sacred geometric symbols and given a psychedelic treatment in post-production to enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the band's signature meditations on suffering and existence. Their triumphant return to the stage stands as a testament to YOB's persistent greatness, and Scheidt's hypnotic presence as a frontman continues to push the band leagues ahead in live settings.

YOB will hit several American dates (below) before taking off to Europe for October and November, making a return to the states in time for Decibel's Los Angeles leg of their Metal & Beer festival. Our Raw Heart is available through Relapse Records' online store
