Watch Zakk Wylde Perform Dramatic Reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Black Label Society frontman recites classic Christmas tale in hilarious new video

In honor of the holiday season, Zakk Wylde recently stopped by the Loudwire offices to don a Santa cap and perform a recitation of Clement C. Moore's classic Christmas story 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. At least that was the plan, until the guitarist grabbed a pen and made a few "changes" to the familiar Yuletide tale.

It starts out innocently enough. "'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house/Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse," booms Wylde. "The stockings were hung by the chimney with care/In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there." From there, things take a turn for the violent. We won't spoil his hilarious edits, but we will say this: Wylde's version of Santa Claus prefers knuckle sandwiches to sugar cookies.

Black Label Society are set to release their new album Grimmest Hits — featuring the previously-shared singles "Room of Nightmares" and "All That Once Shined" — on January 18th via eOne. Next week, they'll road with Corrosion of Conformity, Eyehategod and Red Fang for a North American tour, with a European leg to follow; find their full itinerary here.
