Japan's Babymetal kicked off their latest U.S. tour earlier this week in Kansas City, Missouri, but Yuimetal — one of the members of the band's core trio — did not appear onstage, which led many fans to speculate that she had split with the group. Now, a spokesperson from 5B Management, which represents Babymetal, has confirmed that Yuimetal remains a member of the kawaii-metal act.
"Yuimetal remains a member of the band, but she is not on this current U.S. tour," the representative told Alternative Press, leaving the question of her actual whereabouts up in the air. "There is a new narrative for the future of the band, which is currently evolving. The storyline has changed. This was the basis of the 'Metal Resistance Episode 7: The Revelation' video." According to the spokesperson, the seven hooded figures in the mysterious clip (which you can view below) represent a new era for the band, as well as the addition of new characters. "The who, when, where, and how of The Chosen Seven will be presented as the concept unfolds."
