Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare will return to Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, I.L. This year's event will be held September 25 through November 1.

On October 2 and 4, there will be Rob Zombei concerts.

"I am thrilled to be bringing The Great American Nightmare back to the Chicago area for its second year," says Rob Zombie. "After last year's overwhelming response we've decided to return with a completely new Nightmare. It's more vile and disgusting than ever. Have fun."

Great American Nightmare 2015 will feature three attractions based on Zombie's own horror films:

Captain Spaulding's Clown School In 3D: This irreverent school of pure terror is a hallucinogenic trip through the mind of Captain Spaulding (House Of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects). Startle after startle will thoroughly frighten even the bravest patrons, who won't know if they should be laughing, screaming or crying.

The Devil's Rejects: The murderous, backwoods Firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force that isn't afraid of being as ruthless as its target. Guests will become part of the state troopers' search and destroy mission against the Fireflyfamily, who are wanted for over 75 homicides and disappearances.

31: On October 30, 1975, five carnival workers are kidnapped and held hostage until the following night (Halloween), and are put in a compound named "Murder World." They're told that they are there to take part in a game named "31," where the goal is to survive the next 12 hours. This is made difficult by the fact that they are not alone in "Murder World" — a violent gang of evil clowns are there and stalking their every move.

The fully immersive haunted house experience at Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare will include the all new Bloody Boulevard with major carnival rides, freak shows, musical entertainment, roaming characters, themed food and beverages, games and vendors each night.

Tickets for Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare go on sale Friday, July 31 at 9:00 AM CT, with prices starting at only $25. Each ticket includes access to all haunted house attractions and the Bloody Boulevard activities.

Tickets for October 2 & 4include the Rob Zombie concert and will be available starting at only $45. A limited number of VIP packages will also be available for purchase at GreatAmericanNightmare.com. All VIP packages include a commemorative t-shirt and quicker access to the haunted attractions than general admission. Some packages also include a designated viewing area for the concert and a VIP-only bar.

"Mexico" A song that was started with Jon Stevens. I think it's a great tune, and has a really cool vibe. It's a great set starter for us!

"Evil" A great version of the "Howlin Wolf" blues tune. This is also a crowd favorite when played live!

"Looking for the One" A song started by Dizzy Reed. The title came from the fact that when we were writing it, David and myself could not figure out where the one was in the timing. So, I played around with the lyrics to give it a double meaning.

"Empty Heart" A great Jimmy Barnes composition that I had a blast singing with Jimmy on. He's got HUGE pipes, and he's a great guy as well!

"Make the Best of it" Another song that the other guys had already started before me. A great song though, and immediately loved it! I'm especially fond of the melodic bridge in the song, then Richard Fortus comes screaming in with his guitar...AWESOME!

"Something I Said" I LOVE this song! This is another the guys started before me. I dig the music and the lyrics, and the only thing I changed or arranged was I repeated the first chorus to make it more of a chorus, but what a tune. One of my personal faves on the record!

"Get Up, Get Ready" This is something Richard brought to the table. It's an old school, Grand Funk Railroad, Sly and The Family Stone rocker, in my opinion. It also has a bit in it that used to be part of his solo in Gun's...LOVE IT!

"With You and I" The last song we wrote for the record. I wasn't sure if I would come up with anything for this lyrically, and on the last day everything fell into place. I finished the words, and immediately sang them. It's special, as it's very relevant to the things we see on the news!

"Sleep" This is a song I wrote with a great friend of mine in Nashville, the stupidly talented, and all around nice guy Mr. Matt Farley! I love the Beatles, and I think this one touches on that a bit....GREAT TUNE!

"My Time" This was something Marco Mendoza brought to the table. He had the riff, and some other bits, and we all immediately gravitated to it. I was having some lyric trouble, so Marco also fed me some lyrics to help the process. This is also a really cool tune, with an old school "Purple" vibe to it.

"Midnight Moses" What can I say? One of the greatest guitar riffs ever written, by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band...I LOVE our version, and I love playing this live.

"Devil Out of Time" This one was started by David Lowy. We all felt that this had an MC5, Stooges feel. For some reason, I went with an angry "fuck you" lyric...It just WORKS, and it's a crowd favorite live!

"Critical" This was also started before me, but the melody and lyrics were great! It's a bit different vocally than anything I've done before, but I think it's a great song, and a great ending to our record!

Disturbed2015_1.png

The following is an excerpt from Revolver's August/September issue–which is on newsstands now and available for purchase in our webstore. Here, Disturbed frontman David Draiman talks their new album, getting back together after a hiatus and marijuana's effects on songs.

by Richard Bienstock

Another notable thing about "The Sound of Silence"? "When I cut the vocal, I had just finished tracking another song, and it was the end of my work day," Draiman says. "I was exhausted, and I wasn't expecting to have to sing anymore... so I took a nice hit off a big fat bowl." He laughs. "Then Kevin played me the arrangement and he said, 'You wanna try singing to it?' And I was like, 'I just got high! I'm stoned off my ass!' But I wound up getting back in the vocal booth for two hours, maybe more. Just vibing and going on feel."

An interesting fact, given this story, is that the song immediately following "The Sound of Silence" on Immortalized is "Fire it Up," a big-beat ode to marijuana that actually opens with the sound of Draiman taking a healthy bong hit. "Yeah, there was a big fat bowl before that one, too!" he says. The song, which features lines like "When I need to spark a bit of inspiration and the melody feels like it's trapped inside," is, according to Draiman, an accurate reflection of his own relationship to the sweet leaf. "You know what? Ninety-five percent of the songs I've written in my life, I've written them while high. That's the god's honest truth," he says. "I'll have a very skeletal musical idea in my head, and then I'll light one up, go in the shower and let the steam kind of build up...it helps me relax, and I can see the gaps. I can see the holes in the rhythm and the melody and I'll know where I can go, and what the possibilities are. It helps me be able to perceive every- thing a little bit more clearly. So I figured, 'What the hell, let's write a song about it!' And Danny had this riff that had a real funky bounce to it and that was so different. So it was, 'Okay, let's try this...'"

In addition to being one of the more lighthearted tunes in the Disturbed canon, Draiman also points out that the song "is fun. Yeah, that's me saying it: There's a song on this Disturbed record that's fun. And that's all right. Metal can be fun." He laughs. "And god knows there's certainly enough people out there that appreciate the enlightening aspects of smoking marijuana..."

If Draiman sounds like he's in a particularly good headspace these days, it's because, well, he is. He's happy to be back with his bandmates, especially Donegan, who, he says, "I'm very grateful to have as my songwriting partner. We're fortunate to have found each other." Furthermore, he's insistent about the fact that the band's hiatus wasn't a smokescreen to hide some deep-seated issues within their ranks. Rather, the members are and always have been great friends, and it really was just a matter of wanting some time off. "Getting back together was always part of the game plan," he says. "It was never in doubt. The only question was, How long?"
