Glenn Danzig will be a guest star on this week's episode of 'Portlandia,' which airs Thursday, February 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on IFC.

The network has released a short teaser clip of Danzig's appearance, which shows the singer adopting a Romainian accent to explain to Fred Armisen's character about how to dress at the beach. "Sometimes to have a good time, you have to dress a little lame," he says. Watch the full clip here.

Said Danzig about filming 'Portlandia,' "Fred and Carrie [Brownstein] are fantastic. I had a blast! Thanks to them and their whole team. They are another reason, along with Voodoo Doughnut and Powell's bookstore, that I dig Portland. The filming was a lot of fun. It was very last-minute, so I had to learn all my dialogue really quick, in like a few hours. Show co-creator, co-writer and co-star Fred Armisen e-mailed me and said, 'We've been trying to get in touch with you. We really, really want you to come up and do this episode.' Actually, Rob Zombie gave them my contact info, which is kind of weird because I met Fred at Rob Zombie's birthday party. He was a major Danzig fan and I'm a fan of his work also. Fred is one of my favorite comedians, right up there with Andy Kaufman, Bill Murray, Jerry Lewis, stuff like that."

'Portlandia' creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are longtime fans who have referenced Glenn in one of the sketches as well as filmed a video for Paper Magazine where the two are hanging out in front of his house. In the video, Carrie is reciting and singing the lyrics to "Bullet". Watch the video here.

Chicago-based guitarist Rob Scallon is, as we've shown in the past, the guy who covers Slayer and Cannibal Corpse songs with banjos and ukuleles. Here, Rob goes plays a full song using only pinch harmonics.

As he says: "Pinch harmonics are always the best part of a riff. So why use anything else?"

Vocalist Bryan Grantz said of the video, "It's a good representation of the aggressive culture surrounding the music we play and really shows a lot of what we're about. Being able to escape from the troubles of everyday life through music is something that anyone can relate to. Everyone needs their time and outlet to let it all out."

Today, the festival has announced some additions to its lineup. Deftones, The Shrine and Adam Watt join the lineup, which already features Red Hot Chili Peppers,  Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Bring Me the Horizon, A Day to Remember, Megadeth, At The Drive-In, Lamb of God, and so many more.

Bullet-for-My-Valentine-e1454949591193_0.png

Bullet for My Valentine have premiered the video for "Worthless." The track comes off their recent album, 'Venom.'

The "Worthless" video was directed by Stuart Birchall, who also recently helmed the videos for "Venom" and "You Want A Battle? (Here's A War)," produced by Jamie Whymark for Kode Media and filmed at Elstree Studios in London, UK.

Says singer and guitarist Matt Tuck, "The video itself is very direct, there's no narrative at all. We wanted to keep it super simple and as we went really deep in narrative on 'Battle' and 'Venom' we thought it would be nice to keep it more performance based. The song itself has become one of our favorites from Venom and from all the comments we get from you guys we know it's one of yours too. Enjoy."

Check out the video for "Worthless" below, as well as all Bullet for My Valentine tour dates, with Asking Alexandria and While She Sleeps.

The following is an excerpt from the Dream Theater profile in the Feb/Mar issue of Revolver–which is on newsstands February 9 and is available for purchase in our webstore. Here, axman John Petrucci talks about Dream Theater's new double-album 'The Astonishing.'

by J. Bennett

REVOLVER Did you start working on new material with the intention of writing a double concept record, or did it just turn out that way?
JOHN PETRUCCI Everything about this album was deliberate. It was planned about two and a half years ago. Every detail and layer of it was proposed and planned—from having it based on an original story to having it be a concept album in two acts and being its own stand-alone Dream Theater show that we'll present in seated venues across the world. We had it very mapped out from the beginning.

There are 34 songs on the album. Isn't that more like a triple album?
You know, when I look at it, I can't believe it [laughs]. We've never had anything close to that many songs on any of our albums. It really is a trip. It comes in at two hours and 10 minutes, so it's not just two CDs—it truly is two albums' worth of material. But the reason there are so many songs is because it's a score to the story, so each one sets up a different scene or chapter.

At any point did you think, "What have I gotten myself into?"
[Laughs] Oh my god—at many points. I'm still thinking that! At least now the album's done, but the live show has been in development for the last year. The great thing about the project is that it brings together all the creative art forms that I love—storytelling and creative writing; music, obviously, and songwriting and playing guitar. I love sci-fi and fantasy movies and things like 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Game of Thrones.' Even musical theater like 'Les Misérables' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar,' and—speaking of the show—very cool visuals. Not to mention a deep and broad involvement with real orchestra and choir throughout the entire album. So as much as it's overwhelming, it's very rewarding creatively.

After-the-Burial-e1454877569396_0.jpg

After the Burial have premiered a new song, "Collapse." The track comes from the band's upcoming album, 'Dig Deep,' due February 19 via Sumerian Records.

Says guitarist Trent Hafdahl, "When you think you don't have anything left in you, you have to rely on that inner strength. That's where we are as a band. So many things beyond our control went wrong, but we started to dig deep as brothers."

Adds singer Anthony Notarmaso, "We went through hell to finish this record, and the music translates that. Trent worked his ass off, and it shows. It's crazy because I think it brought us closer as band. Justin [band mate Justin Lowe, who passed away in July] wrote some riffs that ended up on the, but after a couple of days in the studio he left. He obviously wasn't okay, and we wanted him to get well. I arrived a few days after the guys had gotten there. I never got to see him."

'Dig Deep' was recorded at Graphic Nature Audio in New Jersey with producer Will Putney (The Amity Affliction, Upon A Burning Body). The album is the first where the band partnered with a producer. "We had not tried it before," explains Hafdahl. "It felt like a fresh idea to do something new. We were still running the show obviously, but he brought a good ear for tone and melody. He encouraged us to explore more. To have that perspective was helpful."
