Guitarist Manuel Iradian said, "We are proud to announce the release of our new music video for our upcoming album in March! The O'Keefe Music Foundation is a non-profit that helps kids learn about music performance and production, as well as record their own music for free. And what some of those kids decided to record is an awesome version of Slipknot's "Duality."

According to a statement by the O'Keefe Foundation: "After practicing their parts for nearly a year the kids recorded 'Duality' with a toy drumset, a toy glockenspiel, a kitchen pot played with a wooden spoon, a beer keg played with a pink metal baseball bat, two electric guitars and a bass guitar."

Five Finger Death Punch recently received the prestigious "Soldier Appreciation Award" from the Association of the United States Army. The award was founded in 1950 by the then newly founded AUSA. This was based on having Germany and Europe stationed US troops that had a hard standing in the public. The soldiers had been under hard pressure and so the AUSA founded the Award to honor the organizations and/or people who supported the troops to make their daily life more easy and comfortable.

FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory states: "The Soldiers Appreciation Award is something very special. The only musician ever to receive this was Elvis Presley. Clearly what we have to say resonates with a lot of veterans and a lot of service members. To know that we are reaching people and touching their lives with our music is very rewarding,  and to me this really is the sole purpose of being a musician—to be able to make a positive impact in somebody's life."

Asking-Alexandria-e1454344029205_1.jpg

Asking Alexandria have premiered the official video for "The Black." The song is the title track from their upcoming album, due March 25 via Sumerian.

Their fourth full-length effort, 'The Black' will be Asking Alexandria's first release the band parted ways with singer and founding member Danny Worsnop. They've since replaced Worsnop with Ukrainian singer Denis Stoff, formerly of Down and Dirty.

"We hadn't reached our destination yet, and Danny had," admits guitarist Ben Bruce. "I think it was necessary. When it happened, I was devastated. I lost my best friend. We even started referring to this part of our career as 'The Black period.' It was the darkest time, but we weren't going to give up. If he hadn't left, I don't think we would've been as inspired as we were. I also don't think Asking Alexandria would still be around. Instead, we're more excited than ever about this band."

The new EP features artwork by Voivod drummer Michel "Away" Langevin, as well as five studio tracks, including a cover of the Hawkwind classic "Silver Machine."

Anthrax1-e1454026899889_0.png

Anthrax were recently the subject of a new mini-doc for the Smithsonian Museum of American History, as part of the museum's Places of Musical Invention series. The roughly five-minute clip features plenty of archival footage of the band, and finds them talking about their origins in New York City, when "heavy metal was still a relatively new term," according to guitarist Scott Ian.

The members also explore how living in New York City fostered a love for rap and hip-hop, which led to their rap-metal classic "I'm the Man"—"nothing more than an inside joke," says Ian—as well as their collaboration on "Bring the Noise" with Public Enemy.
