Kosmos, the Canadian prog/psych quartet which features Voivod's Michel "Away" Langevin on drums, are asking fans to come up with a unique and creative video concept for the song "Grand Grizou" off their forthcoming album Kosmos, which will be released

on The End Records on August 21st, 2007 for the self-titled debut.

An mp3 of the song can be heard here: Grand Grizou

The contest runs from today (June 18th, 2007) till August 1st, 2007. All video links (hosted on Youtube.com or MySpace.com sites) are to be submitted to the following email address, with subject line, 'Kosmos Video': kosmosvideo@theendrecords.com

Kosmos will be reviewing all the videos and voting on the winner. The winner of the contest, announced August 6th, 2007, will win a $65.00 gift certificate from The End Records' mailorder.

Kosmos is rounded out by guitarist Jetphil (Paradise), bassist Vincent Peake (Groovy Aardvark/Grim Skunk) and keyboardist/programmer Alex Crow. Says Langevin about Kosmos, "We're a progrock collective from Montreal, Canada and we're influenced by the 70's Krautrock scene and avant-garde music." The 12 tracks found on Kosmos offer journeys through cosmic prog psychedelia, a spaceship built for fans of Hawkwind, Amon Duul II, Zombi and Monster Magnet.

Montreal's The Agonist shot their first promotional video clip for the track, "Business Suits and Combat Boots," with renowned director David Brodsky

(All That Remains, GWAR, The Red Chord). The track comes off their debut album, Once Only Imagined, which is set for an August 14th release.

THE AGONIST kicked off the touring cycle for Once Only Imagined, supporting labelmates God Forbid and will soon join Epica and Visions of Atlantis for select dates in September, leading them immediately into a month-long North American tour with Sonata Arctica. They will cap off the fall with shows alongside Enslaved and Overkill.

Vocalist, Alissa White-Gluz states: "The Agonist is extremely excited to hit the road in September with great bands such as Sonata Arctica, Overkill, and Enslaved and finally see our long-awaited debut album, Once Only Imagined, be made available to the public. After playing just one show with labelmates God Forbid in Reading, Pennsylvania on May 17th, we all got the feeling things are on the right track. We are happy to see that our performances become more and more satisfying with every show. God Forbid are an amazing inspiration to us and remarkably friendly and hospitable. It was a great experience to be able to get advice and trade experiences with a band we have respected for so long, at our first U.S. gig."

"The fun didn't stop there as we immediately headed to New York to shoot our first music video with the great David Brodsky. He was really fun to work with and I was thrilled to see that Dave is as passionate about directing as I am about my music. I knew the combination would lead to a great project and a fulfilling end result. The shoot brought us to The King's Park Lunatic Asylum, Long Island. Even more thrilling than shooting on the grounds of a 120 year-old condemned insane asylum notorious for the guinea-pig stages of post-WWII research in psychiatric disorders, was that King's Park was completely self-sufficient in terms of energy production. We are confident and proud of the work we have all done and can't wait to share it with everyone this summer."
