Following the success of their Phantom Bride signature beer, Deftones have once again teamed up with San Diego's Belching Beaver Brewery for a new brew, Swerve City IPA.

"We're super excited about where this Deftones/Belching Beaver partnership is heading," said frontman Chino Moreno to Vents Magazine. "Starting off with the simple idea of doing one limited run of the Phantom Bride collaboration has now turned into a full year of seasonal specialty brews to be put together by our love of beer and Belching Beaver's ability to turn out amazing product. We're looking forward to all of you enjoying the tasty brews we have in store."

According to a statement, Swerve City is described as "an American IPA with passionfruit, guava and orange. Inspired by the famous POG juice, it's a tropical fruit bomb with a juice-like finish. The beer has just enough bitterness and hop flavor to balance the big fruitiness. Available soon in all markets where fine craft beer is sold, it takes its name from the leadoff track of Deftones' 2012 album, Koi No Yokan."

Additionally, the band will be rereleasing their Phantom Bride IPA in cans this summer. A post on Belching Beaver's official Facebook read, "The Return of Phantom Bride! This juicy IPA brewed with Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and Simcoe hops is hitting shelves in 6 pack 16 oz cans this June. Exploding with flavors of tropical fruit and citrus, we are insanely stoked about the continued partnership with Deftones. To make this announcement even juicier we are releasing four more limited brews with the band. Stay tuned!"

Chris Cornell, one of the most revered rock singers of his generation, died Wednesday night in Detroit after his band Soundgarden played a show at the city's Fox Theater. He was 52.

Thursday afternoon the medical examiner determined that the cause of death was suicide by hanging. According to the Detroit Police Department, as quoted by Rolling Stone, a friend went to check on Cornell at his hotel in MGM Grand casino, where he found the vocalist unresponsive on the bathroom floor. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. A statement issued by Cornell's representative, Brian Bumbery, quoted in the New York Times, described Cornell's death as "sudden and unexpected."

With Soundgarden, Cornell helped pioneer the grunge sound. The group broke up in 1997 after releasing seminal records including Badmotorfinger and Superunknown, but reunited in 2010 and recorded the acclaimed comeback album King Animal. At the time of Cornell's death, Soundgarden were reportedly at work on a new record. In April, the singer reported to Billboard that the band was "halfway through writing the new album," but he noted, "We're not on a schedule." He also talked about what he enjoyed the most about working with the group. "What I look forward to the most — because I tour so much, especially the last couple of years, by myself — is the camaraderie," he said. "It's what we missed when we weren't a band. When I do solo tours, I'm really kind of alone all the time, so that's the best thing about it."

Soundgarden appeared on the cover of Revolver in 2012 and talked about their reunion and the making of King Animal. In the story, Cornell reflected on the band's breakup. "I think that what caused us to split apart, rather than just take a hiatus, was just that Soundgarden had become a business," he said, "and that business had somehow, in a sense, started to be able to dictate to us what, where, and how we were going to do things, whether we were into it or comfortable with it or not."

Between the Buried and Me will embark on a North American "Colors Ten Year Anniversary Tour" to celebrate their landmark album, 'Colors,' which they will perform in full. The band will be supported by The Contortionist, Polyphia and Toothgrinder. The dates are available below.

Between The Buried And Me explained in a statement: "'Colors' was our statement of rebellion. We were challenging how others identified us in the context of heavy metal, and ultimately we were challenging how we identified ourselves. It was some kind of musical manifesto, in which we found new purpose and direction simply by throwing caution to the wind and purging every ounce of creative energy we had, regardless of how unhinged it may have seemed at the time. Ten years have passed and we are lucky enough to be able to play this album from front to back on stage for our amazing fans. See you all soon!"

Goatwhore will release their seventh studio album, 'Vengeful Ascension,' on June 23 via Metal Blade Records. The album was produced by Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome), making it the first since 2003's 'Funeral Dirge for the Rotting Sun' that was not overseen by Erik Rutan. Additionally, Chris Common (Tribulation, Pelican) mixed the effort while it was mastered by Maor Applebaum (Faith No More, Halford, Today Is The Day). A trailer for the album is available below.

Explained frontman Ben Falgoust: "Working with Rutan was awesome. We did some great records with him. But you come to a point where you're like, 'All right. Let's try something new.' It was part of trying to remove ourselves from a comfort zone and a risk thing we needed to take. Plus, we really wanted to hit the essence of where we are live and what better way to harness that than by having our live sound guy involved. Jarrett is knowledgeable with the studio stuff. He also knows how we sound coming out of a P.A. and we really wanted to get closer to that.

"Each song is a representation of Goatwhore from day one until now. It really shows our evolution as a band. I don't think that this band has reached its peak yet. I mean, I think we're closer now than ever but we're still growing; we're still evolving."

'Vengeful Ascension' can be pre-ordered in various formats at this location.

Goatwhore are currently on tour in support of Amon Amarth. Dates are available here.

'Vengeful Ascension' Track Listing:

1. Forsaken
2. Under The Flesh, Into The Soul
3. Vengeful Ascension
4. Chaos Arcane
5. Where The Sun Is Silent
6. Drowned In Grim Rebirth
7. Abandon Indoctrination
8. Mankind Will Have No Mercy
9. Decayed Omen Reborn
10. Those Who Denied God's Will
