Mastodon's Brann Dailor on Drawing 101 Clowns Over 101 Days During Pandemic Lockdown

Channeling his lifelong obsession with clowns, Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor drew a clown a day for 101 consecutive days while in pandemic lockdown, texting a picture of his daily clown to a mailing list of family and friends — including Metallica's Lars Ulrich, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Sean Ono Lennon and other famous pals. The new coffee table book Brann Dailor's 101 Clowns of the Coronavirus collects those drawings, making them all finally available to those outside of that close-knit circle. We talked to Dailor about the project and the therapy of clowning around. Order your copy of Brann Dailor's 101 Clowns of the Coronavirus, plus limited-edition prints and shirts, now!
