Nothing: See Band Give Hilarious Filmmaking Lesson in Part 1 of New Album Doc

When we discovered that Philly/NYC shoegaze crew Nothing were headed to Woodstock, New York, to record their new and third album, Dance on the Blacktop, with tastemaker Nineties producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Nada Surf, Dinosaur Jr.) — in a 19th century church turned recording studio — we knew we wanted to document the proceedings. So we sent Nothing mainman/wildman Domenic Palermo a video camera and told him to capture the craziness. The singer/guitarist didn't disappoint, as you can see in Episode 1 of our three-part series. Watch Palermo, guitarist Brandon Setta and drummer Kyle Kimball's hilarious report on the four lessons they learned about what it takes to create a good documentary: focus, keep it natural, respect personal space and make your subject sexy.
