Late last year, Philip Anselmo invited us down to his headquarters outside of New Orleans for an exclusive preview of his new record with the Illegals, Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue. Upon arriving, Anselmo immediately led us to his secluded Nödferatu's Lair studio where the Illegals were waiting. He and his band then treated us to an intimate — and extremely intense — live performance of the full 10 songs from that LP.
