Metal and horror go together hand in severed hand. With that mind, we asked New England metalcore founding father Mike D'Antonio — who plays bass in Killswitch Engage, as well as handling graphic design and art direction duties for his band and others — to sound off on a couple of his favorite metal-leaning fright flicks. Dude was happy tyo oblige. See his gore-spattered picks below.

Dead Alive

Fuck Lord of the Rings — this is Peter Jackson's greatest work. This movie is so metal because the main character has to use a lawnmower — blades first! — to take out an entire house part of monkey-infected zombies. More blood was used in this one movie than in GWAR's entire career.

Street Trash

A movie so terrible it is great. It is about drinking (metal), beating people up and then regurgitating on them (also metal), and lastly, homeless people melting into florescent goo (totally metal).
