Hawthorne Heights are ready to deliver some peak-emo nostalgia this summer, having just announced their multi-city "20 Years of Tears" tour alongside Thursday, Saosin, Anberlin and more.
The Dayton screamo vets announced that the trip will coincide with a previously revealed run of Is For Lovers events the band is hosting across the U.S. The 20 Years of Tears tour will be a condensed take on the fest, with Thursday, Saosin, Anberlin, I See Stars, Cartel, Armor for Sleep, Stick to Your Guns and Emery popping up on select dates.
"20 Years of Tears is a celebration of the genre that raised an entire generation, with basement-born bands to stadium headliners," Hawthorne Heights vocalist JT Woodruff explained in a statement.
He added: "Emo comes in all shapes and sizes and has touched the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life. With some of the biggest names of the MySpace Generation, this lineup is designed to give you the energy you had while feeling so misunderstood, as a 'misguided' youth. This is not just a summer concert, it is a must-see event that can reignite the fire inside all of us as we sing and scream together like it's 2004."
For their part, Hawthorne Heights will play their debut album, 2004's The Silence in Black and White, at the shows for its 20th anniversary. Tickets to all dates go on sale Friday, April 19th at 10 a.m. local time, with various presales starting Wednesday, April 17th at 10 a.m. local time.
