"JOEY JORDISON's last recording": Hear MAYHEM's Attila cover SKINNY PUPPY

Late Slipknot drummer's Sinsaenum bandmate says he played on Alien Vampires track

Late, great Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison's final recording was a Skinny Puppy cover — at least according to Mayhem vocalist Attila Csihar, who Jordison spent several years playing with in the black-metal supergroup Sinsaenum.

Last night (October 4th), Csihar shared a somewhat cryptic Instagram post promoting a cover of the Skinny Puppy classic "Assimilate" that he recently did with the EBM vets Alien Vampires.

In the post, Csihar revealed, "Between us, it's Joey Jordison's last recording. RIP my Blood!" Jordison died suddenly in 2021 at age 46.

Jordison isn't credited with playing on the track on Alien Vampires' Bandcamp, and it's unclear why Csihar was being so coy about Jordison's involvement in the song. However, he does seem like a pretty reliable source here.

In addition to their shared time in Sinsaenum, he and Jordison played together in another supergroup called ELECTHRONE that also featured members of Alien Vampires. Moreover, Jordison was also playing in the industrial-metal band Vimic up until he died, and had previously toured with Ministry, so he was obviously interested in and skilled at the type of playing that appears on this "Assimilate" cover.
