Well… Slipknot are definitely up to something in the desert. The nu-metal icons recently staked up a cryptic new billboard out in Indio, California, along the highway out to the Coachella and Power Trip festival sites.

The advertisement, which fans started reporting on reddit, has the band logo set in the center, flanked by the messaging of "ONE NIGHT ONLY" and "LONG MAY YOU DIE." (See a screenshot below.) It also features a link to youcantkillme.com, which takes you to a vintage, late Nineties-style website with an era-appropriate bio introducing us to the world of "0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8."

The retro web page is full of digital ephemera around Slipknot's 1999 self-titled album, from clunkily spinning logo gifs and a guestbook, to downloads of "Wait and Bleed" at various modem speeds. The whole site is likewise fitted with micro-loops snipped out of Slipknot.

Most notably, the site also has the band's current live schedule, and a curious note that the site was last updated next Thursday, April 25th. Given the placement of the billboard, this could be teasing a concert out in Indio, perhaps a full performance of Slipknot's classic Roadrunner Records debut for its 25th anniversary.

It seems like we'll have to wait until next week for the full details, though. Until then — wait and bleed, Maggots!
