As we reported earlier today, Metallica visited New York City this weekend. They performed at the Apollo Theater Saturday night, at Yankee Stadium Sunday and at Howard Stern's radio studio this morning.

The guys at Stern's SiriusXM satellite radio show must incredibly work fast because they've already posted a video from Metallica's visit, and you can check it out below.

The heavily edited three-minute clip features bits of "One," "Nothing Else Matters," an interview with the band and a whole lot more.

For those of you who don't know, the guy they keep cutting to is Richard Christy, who works as a writer and producer on Stern's show. You can hear his reaction to Metallica's visit via the Soundcloud player below the video.

If you were anywhere near New York City over the weekend, it was almost impossible to avoid the fact that Metallica were very much in town.

They kicked off their big-time Big Apple experience with a show at the Apollo Theater Saturday night, gave retiring New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera a proper — and surprise — sendoff at Yankee Stadium Sunday afternoon and paid a visit to Howard Stern's show on SiriusXM satellite radio earlier today.

Below, you can check out fan-filmed clips of Metallica at Yankee Stadium, playing "Enter Sandman" in Rivera's honor — and performing "One" at the Apollo.

For most of his long career, Rivera, a future Baseball Hall of Famer, has been coming out of the bullpen to close out games to the tune of "Enter Sandman" blasting from the stadium's PA system. It was a nice surprise to have the band there in the flesh.

"The whole thing was special, I wasn't expecting something like that," Rivera told ESPN. "A lot of emotions. It was more than what I was thinking."

At the stadium, the band were clad in one-off New York Yankees-style jerseys with "Metallica" written on the front and "Sandman" on the back.

Why all the Metallica hoopla lately? The band are deep into promotion mode for their new 3D film, Through the Never, which opens in select 3D theaters this Friday, September 27, and expand into additional theaters October 4. Stay tuned for more on that!

Note: This photo (above) is from Metallica's Facebook page. Head there now for more images from their Yankee Stadium performance.

Below, check out some incredibly new, professionally shot footage from Metallica's September 19 show at the Rock In Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

The top video features "Hit the Lights" and "Master of Puppets." Below that, you'll find, in order, "Holier Than Thou" and "And Justice For All."

The band's new 3D film, Through The Never, premiered earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival and will open in IMAX theaters September 27, expanding to more screens October 4.

This weekend (Saturday, September 21), Metallica will perform at New York City's Apollo Theater as part of the promotion for the film.

Enjoy!

Below, check out a video of Nirvana performing "Heart-Shaped Box" and "Scentless Apprentice" from their December 13, 1993, Live and Loud concert at Seattle's Pier 48.

The performance is from the band's upcoming Live and Loud DVD, which will be included with the Super Deluxe Edition of the upcoming 20th-anniversay reissue of In Utero. The DVD also will be available on its own.

Both will be released September 24 via Universal Music.

To say that Nirvana's third and ultimately final studio album, In Utero was 1993's most polarizing record would be an understatement. The unadorned sonic rawness of Steve Albini's recording laid bare every primal nuance of the most confrontational yet vulnerable material Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would ever record.

And with its 1991 predecessor Nevermind having sold 30 million copies, returning honest rock to the top of the charts, In Utero was the first record Nirvana would make with any expectations from the public. So from the opening quasi-shamble melodics of "Serve The Servants" through the bittersweet closing strains of "All Apologies," In Utero was the sound of the most incredible yet conflicted rock band of the era at the peak of its powers coming to terms with a generational spokes-band mantle they'd never seen coming—and ultimately surmounting these struggles to make the record they needed to make.

Metalcore band Erra will release their new album, Augment, October 29. "It's a very appropriate title based on everything we are trying to accomplish and all the growth we have gone through since our last record," says guitarist Jesse Cash. "Nothing is taken away or watered down, only improved upon, and if anything, we accentuated all the parts that people wanted to hear more of this time around."

In anticipation, the group has teamed with Revolver to premiere the lyric video for new song, "Pulse." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Augment is available for preorder now on the Tragic Hero MerchNow Store.
